PUBLICATIONS

The Society publishes and supports the publication of materials that advance its educational and scholarly mission, as well as works based on its collections and exhibition program. Why America Is Free, the Society's textbook on the American Revolution, was published for classroom and home school use. The Society has published several outstanding essays based on its annual George Rogers Clark Lectures. Two books focusing on the history of the Society were written by the late Minor Myers, Jr., a former General Officer and long-time president of Illinois Wesleyan University. More recently, the Society is the co-publisher, with the University of North Carolina Press, of a major scholarly book on the literature of the art of war in the eighteenth century. These works, as well as catalogs of the Society's exhibitions and the Society's annual reports, are all currently available.
